Likewise Media, LLC is the publishing company that produces the podcasts LikeWise Fiction, Keep the Channel Open, and, in collaboration with Rachel Zucker, Hey, It's Me.
In-Depth, Intimate Interviews. Since 2016, host Mike Sakasegawa has had conversations with some of the most exciting artists and writers in the business, sharing them via his podcast Keep the Channel Open. Whether visual arts, literature, podcasts, or curating, what ties all of these things together is the drive to create, to engage with creativity and our shared human experiences. Mike and his guests dive into process and dig into the work, exploring what it means and why it matters.
Inclusive Fiction. Stories are important. Stories, especially when read aloud, do more than just entertain—they provide a point of connection between people. But for so long, so many voices have been excluded from traditional pubishing, especially women and nonbinary writers, writers of color, and LGBTQ+ writers. It's critically important to find ways to support these artists and make new spaces for their work to exist, and new venues for getting that work out into the world. LikeWise Fiction is dedicated to providing that space and support, sharing new stories every month from writers from underrepresented communities.
Two friends, trying to figure things out. Co-hosts Rachel Zucker of Commonplace and Mike Sakasegawa's friendship grew out of podcasting and a penchant for long voice messages via WhatsApp. In their podcast Hey, It's Me, the two of them chat about podcasting, pop culture, dating, relationships, and whatever else comes along. What results is a show that is about friendship and conversation, both an example of those things and an examination of them. "We don't know what we're doing, but we're doing our best."
When you donate, you're not just helping cover things like production and hosting costs for these shows. You're also helping support an entire creative ecosystem, including editing, graphic design, illustration, and, of course, the authors behind the short stories shared on LikeWise Fiction. Let's help make the inclusive and sustainable creative world we'd like to see, one little bit at a time!
